  2. Count the words in your text and calculate payment.

    How to count?

    In Word, see the Tools menu / Word Count.

    For plain text, you can use a freeware text utility such as NoteTab Light.

    For printed, double-spaced text, you can estimate by figuring 300 words per page.

  3. Complete the online order form.

Order Form instructions:

1. Send email with at least a one-page sample of your document, either as an attached Microsoft Word document (preferred), or as text pasted into the body of your email message. Please include also any preferences or expectations you may have for the level of editing you require.

2. I will give you a free estimate based on your preferences and the quality and length of your work. Normally I can supply this by return email within 1-2 days. My estimate will suggest either one of my standard editing rates, or a custom rate which you can use to complete payment below.

3. If you haven't already done so, send me your complete document (see step 1, above) and proceed with payment (step 4, below). I will edit your document after receiving notice of payment.

4. Proceed with online credit card payment using the form below. You will be linked to a secure order form to complete payment.

How to count?

For printed, double-spaced text, you can estimate by figuring 300 words per page.

Round to the nearest thousand words. (For example, if your manuscript has 3499 words, estimate "3000." If you count 3500 words, estimate "4000.")

If I quoted you a custom rate--for example, $15 per 1000 words--then calculate on that basis. Using the example...
4000 words X $15 = $60.

Once you have a total cost for the job (either from my estimate or your calculation) . . .
